Bethesda vocal-chord Pete Hines has revealed that the last ever piece of downloadable content for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion will be available on Monday.

Fighter's Stronghold gives you none other than your very own Castle, complete with a troop of knights to defend it, a secret treasure vault, a wine maker to brew special potions, a combat trainer to spar with, and even a taxidermist to fashion sculptures out of your most impressive kills.

On top of all that is the obvious joy of owning an enormous fantasy property, with sprawling dining halls, wine cellars, barracks, training rooms, even an ancient Dwemer Forge that increases your Armorer skill - much like the Alchemy table in Frostcrag Spire. Beat that, Grand Designs.

You come about owning Battlehorn Castle by seeing off some ruthless marauders besieging the place, before discovering a letter written by the previous owner. From here your task is clear: rebuild and refurnish the place, and return glory to the Knights of the True Horn. You might also stumble on some hidden passageways and dark secrets as you do.

Pete Hines also went on to talk about PS3 content, specifically Shivering Isles. He said Bethesda was very close to either offering it as a downloadable addition or as a disc in shops. Currently the only way to get your hands on it is by buying the Game of the Year edition, which will have Oblivion, Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine inside.

Xbox owners, on the other hand, can get their hands on a retail copy of Shivering Isles soon, which also has the Knights of the Nine content bundled in.

Fighter's Stronghold is the sixth downloadable content addition to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. So far we have been treated to Horse Armour, the Orrery, Frostcrag Spire (Wizard's Tower), the Thieves Den, Mehrune's Razor and the Vile Lair. New Spell Tomes were also added recently for a small price.

Bethesda also brought out an official mini-expansion called Knights of the Nine, which saw you restore an old religious order to its former glory by undertaking a series of quest.

Fighter's Stronghold will be free to download for PC from the official website for one week. No price has yet been mentioned for it on Live Marketplace, although we expect it will be similar to Vile Lair and Thieves Den and cost points (GBP / EUR ).
